Programme Co-Lead Dr Brent O'Carrigan becomes Affiliated Assistant Professor

In recognition of his 'sizeable contributions to research', Urological Malignancies Programme co-lead Dr Brent O'Carrigan has been awarded an Affiliated Assistant Professorship by the Selection Committee for the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge.

Dr O'Carrigan is PI for a broad portfolio of academic and commercial clinical trials in both kidney cancer and melanoma, including cellular therapy trials. He is Clinical Cancer Lead for the NHS Genomics Laboratory Hub for the East of England and East Midlands and member of NHS England's National Genomic Test Directory working group. He is deputy chair of the NCRI Skin Group and develops the national strategy for academic research into skin cancer across the UK.


Alongside his research and work leading the UM Programme, Dr O'Carrigan is a consultant medical oncologist at Addenbrooke's hospital, specialising in melanoma as well as kidney cancer.


Brent was also recently selected for ESMO's Leaders Generation Programme, a highly selective development programme for young oncologists from throughout Europe.
