Urological Malignancies Programme Lead, Professor Grant Stewart has been awarded the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh's most senior academic award, a King James IV Professorship. The professorship recognises Professor Stewart's significant contribution to the clinical and scientific basis of surgery and his substantial body of work as a Surgical Fellow of the College.

The award is named after King James IV of Scotland who confirmed the College's Seal of Cause in 1506, and was established to mark the new millennium. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II gave permission for the College to use the title King James IV Professorship.
