Last week's Surgeons: At the Edge of Life featured the skill and stamina of UM Programme member Alex Colquhoun with Nicola Fearnhead, as well as cameo roles from Grant Stewart and Tony Riddick.

The programme highlighted the challenging operations, requiring skill and expertise, that are carried out at Addenbrooke's. One such procedure highlighted was a pelvic exenteration, which requires two surgeons to perform and two days to complete. The surgeons only perform around 10 of these surgeries a year.
